1. Artists added a touch of realism to the animals by putting debris in their fur.

为了更真实，艺术家们在动物的毛发里加入了残渣和碎片。

In order to “bolster the animal-feel,” artists added bits of debris (like hay, sticks, leaves etc.) to the coats of animals. If you look closely at Yax the Yak, you’ll see what we mean!

2. Six unique outfits were designed for Bellwether.

The fabric of choice? Wool, of course! The mayor’s wardrobe includes a houndstooth dress, a blazer with a bell, and an orange dress featuring a scissor pattern that represents shears.

Despite the fact that real rabbits sport a split upper lip, animators decided to forego authenticity and keep Judy’s lip all together.

4. Lionheart was inspired by Mufasa.

When creating Mayor Lionheart, artists looked to the lion king himself, Mufasa, for inspiration. He looks great!

5. There was a close encounter during production.

在制作过程中曾有一次近距离交锋。

While working on the film, director of cinematography-layout, Nathan Warner, got more than he bargained for when caretakers introduced filmmakers to a real-life cheetah during their research trip to Africa. The big cat seemingly wasn’t fond of the camera Warner carried, and leapt up to let him know. Neither filmmaker nor cheetah were harmed during the encounter.

在电影制作过程中，拍摄组前往非洲进行动物考察，当饲养员将电影制作者们带到一只真的猎豹前时，摄影布局指导Nathan Warner与它的互动超过了他的预期。这只大猫似乎不喜欢摄影机，并且扑向拍摄者来表明它的立场。摄制组与猎豹都没有受伤。

6. Animators took inspiration from classic Disney films for the design of Assistant Mayor, Bellwether.

7. Artists blended traditional cityscapes with animal infusions.

For example, Tundratown sports onion-shaped domes in a nod to Russian architecture.

And the Zootopia train station features an interior tropical garden inspired by Madrid's Atocha train station, but with horn-shaped towers.
