ADMISSION PROCESS
The Canadian International School of Beijing will accept applications fromnew students throughout the year. CISB admits students on the basis of“rolling admissions,” taking completed applications in the order in whichthey arrive until no space remains in a given class.
Admission process is composed of 3 steps: application, student assessment andacceptance. Prior to being considered for admission to CISB, students mustfile a complete application and submit all documentation as required.
CISB Admission procedure is transparent and fully explained to the parents ofprospective students.
CRITERIA FOR ACCEPTANCE TO CISB
1. Academic Skills
CISB is a university preparatory school that challenges students to meet thehighest standards and expects each student to learn to their maximumpotential. Based on previous school transcripts and reports, applicants mustshow their motivation to achieve successfully the high academic standards ofCISB.
2. Social Skills
CISB is a learning community bound together by adherence to the principles ofrespect, responsibility and honesty. As such, CISB accepts only studentswhose past record demonstrates a clear commitment to these principles.
3. Physical or Learning Disabilities
CISB accepts students with mild learning disabilities and with certainphysical disabilities. Nevertheless, CISB cannot accept students whosephysical or learning disability is judged by our academic staff to be suchthat we cannot effectively educate the child.
CLASS SIZE
The maximum class size at CISB is 25 students.
WAITING LISTS
In the case of a child being accepted to CISB but with no space available inthe class, the child is placed on a waiting list.
Accepted students are placed on a waiting list strictly in chronologicalorder by date of completed application. Priority is given to:
o CISB Alumni: returning students
o Siblings: siblings of students already enrolled in theschool
